The Watch Six was designed from the ground up by Lou Alessi to be a very comfortable IWB holster due to its unique construction.

Even though the holster itself is considered thin by most, it's design allows for the mouth to remain open for one-handed reholstering of the pistol. On other, lower-quality IWB holster designs, the constriction of the gun belt tends to cause the collapse of other, lower-quality IWB holster designs. The team at Alessi Holsters is able to accomplish this in the Watch Six regardless of this fact, and do so without significantly enhancing the profile and bulk of the holster.

To secure it in place, holsters built on the Watch Six design use two talon clips to keep it it from moving either to the front or back of the belt as the handgun is carried about over the course of the day. Two stabilizing wings help to distribute the weight of the gun along the body and the design incorporates a molded sight channel to protect the front sight of the pistol from damage over a long course of time. To facilitate a fast draw, Watch Six holsters were designed to be worn just behind the hop and feature a 15ยบ forward cant.
