More and more shooters are buying multiple guns with the same basic frame but different barrel lengths. Glock is known for doing this and so is Springfield Armory with their XD line of polymer handguns. One problem law enforcement officers face when buying a full size, a compact, and a long version of the same pistol is that many times you have to buy new duty holsters to go with each of them.

The open-muzzle design of the Galco Cop Slide helps make this problem a thing of the past. The duty holster is precision-molded for various pistol frames with most major pistol lines being supported. An adjustable tension screw near the trigger guard facilitates maximum firearm retention. To comply with department regulations and prevent anyone else from drawing the gun, the while the rear sight is protected by a reinforced thumb break and wide safety strap.

Remember though, that every strength comes with associated weaknesses. As with any slide-style duty holster, special attention must be given to ensure that the pistol is not pushed up and out of the holster during the course of the day when sitting and then standing. The exposed nose of the pistol make this a possibility, but not a major one. The risk can be almost completely eliminated as long as the retention strap is properly secured at all times.

The Cop Slide is constructed of premium cowhide and fits belts up to 1 3/4" wide and the low-cut design allows for easier, faster clearance of the pistol from the leather.

The Galco Cop Slide duty holster is available in right and left hand designs for automatic pistols only. Currently it is only offered in the standard black finish.
