In 2000 the folks over at Milt Sparks Holsters designed to rework their long offered PCH-R pocket holster. The upgraded version became known as the model "I" and the new holster is often referred to as the PCH-RI. This newer rendition of a well-loved design kept all the favorite features of the the original and added a new, higher quality leather layout.

The PCH-RI positions the revolver rearward towards the center line of the pocket. This small changes allows a forward to rear, thin edge to thin edge profile on the holster. The outer shell remains unformed in order to obscure the details of the gun that it houses. It is the holster's overall shape and size in concert with the rough side out construction on the inner shell which provides every shooter with the knowledge that the pocket holster itself will remain in place when the gun is drawn.

As with the original Milt Sparks PCH Pocket Holster, a flexible wire insert is stitched and laminated into the outer edge of the holster. This little detail is what allows the user to shape and mold the outer edge as he sees fit to achieve optimal concealment.

The PCH-J pocket holster is designed primarily for the hammer-less S&W 2" J frame styel pistols but is also available for the 2" D framed Colts (Detective spec.) or 2" Ruger SP-101. If you are going to carry these guns in your pocket, most experienced shooters would recommend selecting a bobbed hammer or double-action-only version of these guns for both safety and practicality reasons.
